Looking for a projector, $500 and less

I've been researching to find a decent projector under $500, and honestly, the more I read, the more I'm confused, I want something that'll be used in a dark bedroom setup like for movies, maybe some gaming and ideally, something I can take outside for backyard movie nights too. I've looked at the BenQ TH575, the ViewSonic PX701HD, and a couple of those portable android based projectors, each one seems to check a different box, but not all at once. I'm not expecting full theater vibes, but I'd like something that doesn't look somehow

For me the portable ones are kind of meh, it can be dark and gaming might have more lag. Looks like the BenQ's a good choice though

Yea it gets overwhelming fast. The BenQ TH575 is prolly your best all-around pick. The ViewSonic PX701HD is also a good one but might be a bit over your budget. If you need something super portable, the Android ones are convenient but not as sharp or bright.

Under $500, you'll have to choose between brightness and portability, BenQ and ViewSonic are great for dark rooms but less portable, android projectors are easy to move but dimmer so aim for 3,000 lumens and 1080p if possible, but you might have to sacrifice one for the other.
