Is mixing speaker brands a bad idea?

I’ve got a mix of speaker brands in my 5.1 setup and they're mostly hand-me-downs. It sounds okay, but I wonder if matching brands would improve the experience. Anyone else mix and match?

Thanks for posting! Mixing brands is super common. I did the same and slowly swapped in matching fronts. Made a noticeable difference for movies. What brands are you working with? Some mix better than others!
