I need a simple home theater setup for streaming movie, using an ultrashort throw projector that can handle a bit of light in the room. I'm also after a manual pull-down screen that helps block ambient light. What are the cheapest options in the market right now? Itd be awesome if they had a built-in sound system too.

I set up a simple home theater recently and I went with the Epson LS300, it works fine with some light in the room and has decent speakers. For the screen, the VIVOHOME pull-down was cheap and helped with glare. Not perfect, but good for the price!

Go with a UST projector that has built in speakers and good brightness, paired with a manual pull down screen that blocks some ambient light, lol these should be enough

Cool setup! How does the LS300 look in dark scenes with some light in the room? And did you hang the VIVOHOME screen or mount it? I don't have much space, so just looking for easy ideas.

I’d pick the cheapest UST model you can live with, mount it close to the wall (as per spec), and use a pull-down ALR screen to combat light. If its audio is weak, tack a soundbar. The image is what matters most.
