1080 or 4k projector for home

my wife and I have friends and family coming mostly every week. I wanna get the best projector for my living room or maybe garage. I wonder if there's a big difference between a 1080 or 4k projector, because a 4k is almost twice the cost for some models out there? The throw distance would be around 10-15ft

Honestly, unless you’re projecting a giant wall‑sized image, most folks won’t notice the jump from 1080 to 4K at that distance. The bigger difference is brightness and contrast. For me, it's great for garage movie nights.

I’m trying to get a feel for what people in London are running in terms of higher-end projector setups, especially UST or laser models.
Has anyone here got something like a Hisense PX3 Pro, LG HU915QB, Sony XW5000ES, AWOL, Epson QS100, or anything similar?
Would be great to hear how you’re finding it day to day, like how is the picture quality, brightness, setup, noise, all that. Also, curious how it compares to just sticking with a big TV.
